Have you looked at your cat’s teeth recently?
With as many as 70% of cats over the age of three suffering from some form of dental disease now is a good time for your cat to have a dental health check.
A healthy mouth has pale pink gums and bright white teeth. Red gum margins can be a sign of gum inflammation or gingivitis and is usually due to an unhealthy accumulation of plaque bacteria on the teeth. If left untreated, gingivitis will progress and can result in destruction of the tooth supporting structures and tooth loss. Dental disease is detrimental to a cat’s health and a cause of pain. Often cats show no outward signs and regular dental checks are advisable. If you would like to book your cat in for a FREE OF CHARGE dental check with our Veterinary Nurse during September, please contact us to arrange an appointment. We can advise on diets and homecare to keep your cat’s mouth healthy.
